During this project you will create a short stop motion animation about France.
The final video must be under 2 minutes length.

Lessons 1 and 2 (ICT and French): The Story

Step 1: Choose a topic from the list below.

*For more information on the regions of France please visit this wiki.

Step 2: Take a copy of the Google Presentation below. Rename it with the name of you project and share it with your group members as well as your ICT teacher.

You will work on the storyboard and the script in Google Drive as it will make collaboration easier.

Your group has a week to ensure that the storyboard and script are both completed. Please understand that You Cannot Go On to the next lesson if this homework is not done. This may end up in your group having to work at breaks and lunch time in order to finish on time.

Examples of Claymation Work

There are plenty of examples of claymation work in YouTube that might help you gather some ideas together.

First take a look at some of the stop motion work that was done by previous classes.

Here are some other examples of stop motion videos that other people have produced.

Lesson 3: Taking the Stop Motion Shots (ICT)

Now that you have created your storyboard, you will need to set the stage and begin taking the shots.

How you take your shots depends on where you are working and the equipment you are using.
Before you do anything read through these instructions completely.

Your group will be able to use a green screen (chromakeying)
for the shots. The advantage of this is that you can then use other pictures and even video as you background for the animation. Please ensure that you get a green screen from your ICT teacher before you start shooting.

Take a look at this simple video before and after to get an idea of how this works.

Lessons 4 and 5 (ICT and French)

During these last two lessons you will edit your video, add a basic soundtrack, titles, captions (if needed) and credits.
Please use the ABCICT iMovie lessons to do so.
